The short version

Three decades of Sunraysia adventure.

Founded in 1995 by Allan Hassell and Ian Smith, Wildside Outdoors (formerly Wild Side Personal Development Enterprises) has grown into the premier provider of school camps and outdoor adventure programs in the Sunraysia region.

With over 20 schools from Sunraysia and surrounding areas choosing Wildside for their camps, we're the trusted name in outdoor education and adventure. What began as a passion for high-quality outdoor programs has, under the leadership of Thomas Floyd since 2021, expanded into a comprehensive outdoor adventure company.

Wildside Outdoors is known for pioneering canoe and kayak tourism in Sunraysia, and for fitness programs that challenge participants in the great outdoors. Today, we continue to set the standard for adventure-based learning in Victoria's most scenic natural landscapes.

What we stand by

The things we won't budge on.

Four ideas that have stayed true since 1995. We hire for them, plan for them, and turn down work that doesn't fit them.

Local, not franchised

We run our own kit with our own guides. No bus-in operators, no white-label tours. Every booking goes straight to the crew.

Quiet professionalism

We don't dress up what we do. We turn up early, brief properly, and run the day without theatre. People notice.

Respect the place

The Murray, the mallee and Hattah-Kulkyne aren't a backdrop. We operate light, leave no trace, and teach the same.

Built around people

Schools, corporates, families, locals — every group is different. We plan the day around them, not the other way round.

From the field

What an average week looks like.

Our mission

To connect over 2,000 students and groups with enriching outdoor experiences by the end of 2025 — fostering teamwork, leadership and a deep connection to nature through our camps, activities and fitness programs across Sunraysia.
